In the video interview, the programmer of this year’s film series, Olaf Möller, explains what appeals to him in IHME Artist Theaster Gates’s art. Möller also talks about his choice of themes for the Festival’s two series of films that expand on Theaster Gates’s work.
In what way is Gates’s art political to Möller? And how might the screenings be tackling political issues?
Olaf Möller is a writer and programmer. He teaches at Helsinki’s Aalto University’s School of Arts, Design and Architecture.
The film series curated by Möller will be screened on Friday, April 7, and Saturday, April 8. The series will focus on Japan and on discarded and found materials. Details to be announced on Tuesday, February 7.
